A Day In Rancho Mission Viejo

May 19, 2017

Nestled in the rolling hills of a historic 23,000-acre ranch, you’ll find one of South Orange County’s newest master-planned communities, Rancho Mission Viejo. This new, vibrant community is ideally located northeast of San Juan Capistrano and directly south of Ladera Ranch. Renowned for its stunning natural landscape and pristine properties, Rancho Mission Viejo also offers miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails through the popular 17,000-acre nature reserve, The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo.

Ranch Mission Viejo

Multiple residential communities began opening in phases starting back in 2010. More residential communities are slated to be developed in phases up until 2030. A new community called Rancho Mission Viejo celebrated its grand opening back in 2013 with the debut of its first village called Sendero. In the fall of 2015, the village of Esencia celebrated the grand opening of its first 12 neighborhoods. The Rancho Mission Viejo community is slated to provide several mixed-use villages (developed in phases over the next few years) which include up to 14,000 new homes; 6,000 of which will be for buyers aged 55 and up.

Many residents are drawn to the community of Rancho Mission Viejo due to its impressive and elaborate amenities including but not limited to:

  • A newer school (opened in fall of 2018) Rancho Mission Viejo Citron pool
  • Esencia Farm where your family can plant and grow produce
  • Multiple pool/spa facilities with water features for all like the South Plunge
  • Parks with pavilions
  • The Camp Out – an open-air gathering space with a fire pit and BBQ, shade structures, and picnic tables with benches. Perfect for families wanting a stay-cation!
  • The Canyon House – the perfect place to gather! Enjoy open-air seating, event Rancho Mission Viejo Esencia Farmamenities, and a large activity lawn—all surrounded by panoramic canyon landscapes.
  • Canyon Coffee at The Canyon House brings the community of Esencia together over cups of piping-hot Peet’s Coffee and other refreshments.
  • South Paw Dog Park – The perfect retreat for man’s best friend. A dog park complete with dog watering and washing stations.
  • The BBQ Barn—a unique open-air barn and outdoor space with BBQ/cook counters, fire pit, bocce ball courts, and turf areas.
  • Miles and miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails connected with portions of The Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo

Rancho Mission Viejo Fire Pit

Rancho Mission Viejo boasts excellent proximity to outstanding schools (both public and private), restaurants, boutiques, outlets, and numerous entertainment centers, also being praised for its seamless blend of residential and commercial areas, making it the perfect place to live!
