Best Local Pumpkin Patches

October 13, 2021

Pumpkin patches are, in our opinion, one of the best things about the Fall season. The best patches have so much more than pumpkins for purchase. There are tractor rides and apple launches, corn mazes and face painting. The best pumpkin patches are the Fall equivalent of Summer carnivals. In Orange County, we are lucky enough to have some great options for family fun in our area.

Check out one (or all) of the places below that made our best local pumpkin patches list.

1. The Pumpkin Patch – located in Placentia

The best place to start your Fall adventure should be at The Pumpkin Patch. This farm is Southern California’s oldest Pumpkin Patch. They offer an array of activities to keep you and the family enjoying yourselves for hours. The farm has baby animals, tractor rides, carnival games, inflatables, and gold mining opportunities. Throughout the patch, there are many adorable photo opportunities set up so you can also get your Fall family photos checked off your list. If you still need a reason to visit this farm, they offer a variety of party packages for those that are looking for something a little more private.

2. Tanaka Farms – located in Irvine

If your kids are into Blippi, you may have heard of this farm already. Once Blippi shot an episode at Tanaka Farms, it became a top local attraction. Since this farm is so popular, parking reservations are needed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is worth it though, as they have a pumpkin canon, you can stop by the gift shop or produce stand, or head to their grill for lunch. Tanaka Farms also offers u-pick options for produce and wagon rides out to their fields. $6 per person for general admission, 2 and under, as well as military members are free.

3. Pa’s Pumpkin Patch – located in Long Beach

Pa’s Pumpkin Patch provides a country fair atmosphere. This place does not lack on things to do, a spot for the whole family to enjoy with 28 different attractions! Including a petting zoo, carnival games, and rides for all ages. Making them unique from other pumpkin patches, Pa’s has a race track, pony rides, and slides. They also offer a large variety of pumpkins for you to pick from, as well as corn stalks, haystacks, and a snack bar. Open 7 days a week and they have free parking.

4. Pumpkin City – located in Laguna Hills

Go and celebrate the Fall season this October at one of Orange County’s premier Harvest Festivals! While this place is not a traditional pumpkin patch, you and the family can still adventure through thousands of pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. Pumpkin City offers a charming farm atmosphere to enjoy an abundance of amusement rides for the kiddos, game booths, a petting zoo, and even a puppet show. Admission is free Monday through Friday before 5pm and they have free parking as well.

Now gather the family, put your rain boots on, and head to one of these local pumpkin patches for some Fall fun!
