Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness

With approximately 4,500 acres of wilderness and natural open space land, Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park has some of the best hiking in Orange County! The numerous trails are great for hikers, runners, mountain bikers, equestrians, and picnickers. Be sure not to miss the stunning caves! Cave Rock and Dripping Cave are stunning sights to see, and filled with history! In fact, thieves used Dripping Cave as a hideout during the 1800s after they would rob stagecoaches of crops, livestock, and other possessions. After you leave the Dripping Cave, take a left to head to Car Wreck Trail. This is where you’ll find an old, 1946 Ford Coupe submerged in the rocky terrain. But be careful! Poison Oak is found throughout the park.
Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park is open daily from 7 a.m. until sunset. Trails are subject to closure during and after the rain. Parking is $3 for the day.
