And just like that, the air is getting crisper and we suddenly have a desire to stay cuddled up on our couch with a warm beverage. That is a good sign that Fall is just around the corner! Here comes the season of leaves changing colors, pumpkin spice lattes, and comfy sweaters. Fall is one of our favorite seasons for many different reasons, but one of the greatest reasons we love Fall is the decorations!
Here are five tips to keeping your home feeling cozy and warm this Fall season.
- Candles or wax warmers.
You can’t have Fall without the smell of fresh pumpkin pie or apple cinnamon roaming throughout your home. There are so many great products on the market to achieve your ideal Fall smell, but there is something uniquely cozy about the flicker of a flame. We prefer wax warmers or candles to get the ambiance that you are looking for. Some candles even have a fire crackling wick that definitely gets the cozy vibes going.
- Pull out those cozy blankets.
When we think of Fall, the first thing that comes to mind is the feeling of comfort. Wrapped up in a warm blanket with some comfy socks and a good book? Nothing screams Fall more than that. Throw blankets are not just for cuddling with on the couch, but they also make great and easy décor. Add a blanket ladder to your living room or toss some blankets in a wicker basket by your fireplace for that cozy Fall look.
- Add some house plants.
There is something extra calming and comforting about having your home filled with different shades of Fall colors. The best way to achieve this natural look is by adding a few plants to your home. Try eucalyptus delicately placed on your fireplace mantel or some succulents in festive vases. Fall flowers, real or fake, are always a great way to brighten up your home. Sunflowers and hydrangeas make the perfect addition to any dining room table.
- Ambiance lighting.
We have said it before, but we will say it again, lighting can make a world of difference! There are so many ways that you can accomplish the Fall ambiance that you are looking for with lighting options. Try replacing your bright white lightbulbs for warm light ones. Add twinkle lights around the fireplace or lanterns filled with Fall candles. Adding tealights throughout the home can also give it a comforting touch.
- Fall décor.
From pumpkins everywhere, to stalks of wheat, to wicker baskets, Fall décor is our favorite. The first place to start with décor should always be the front of your home. Fall wreaths or straw bales around your door can set the mood right when you enter. Decorating the fireplace mantel with seasonal signs, lights, and leaves is truly one of the best ways to invite Fall into your home. Don’t forget to throw in a festive table runner or rug into the mix!
Now pull out those decorations and throw blankets, cuddle up on the couch with your favorite Fall beverage, and let the season begin!
