Oh Fall, the season of change! Fall is one of our favorite seasons, there just seems to be a special feeling in the air when the weather starts to get crisper and the leaves start to make their way to the ground. It is the season of change. Fall also has so much to offer for fun activities that you do not want to miss out on. Here are a few suggestions to add to your bucket list to get the most out of this season!
- Head to a pumpkin patch.
Pumpkin patches are so much more than just pumpkins scattered about in an open field. Most pumpkin patches offer a variety of activities for every age range. There are usually hay rides, corn mazes, festive foods, and seasonal beer gardens. Many pumpkin patches even have farm animals to feed and pet!
- Host a Fall picnic.
There is something about comfort food that screams Fall to us. Think meat, cheese, crackers, and warm apple cider. Since Fall weather is still fairly sunny and dry, it makes it the perfect time to host a fun picnic for family and friends. Grab some flannel blankets and head outside. If you really want to have a Fall hit on your hands, put together some caramel apple kits for the kids!
- Bake.
Nothing says Fall more than the smell of a freshly baked pie roaming through your home. Since we are spending more time indoors during this season, it is the perfect time to freshen up your baking skills. Sticking to the traditional pies such as apple or pumpkin is always a great way to go, but if you are feeling up for it, you could also give a salted caramel pie a shot.
- Go apple picking.
What a better way to gather supplies for all those apple pies that you are about to bake than going and picking them fresh yourself? Apple picking is a staple on any Fall bucket list. Not only will you be able to gather the supplies that you need for your pies, but it is also a fun activity to do with the family. While you are getting fresh air in the apple orchards, why not make a day of it? Bring a camera and get your Fall photos checked off your list as well!
- Find a festival.
The Fall season is filled with so many festive things to do. Whether it is Oktoberfest, a Harvest Festival, or a Turkey Trot, you will not have a problem finding an activity that the whole family can enjoy. Enjoy some seasonal beer or some roasted corn on the cob at event that fits what you are looking for. Some our favorite events include the Oktoberfest at the Old World Village and the Irvine Global Village Festival.
