Come fall, most buyers have have exited the market. Many families want to be in a new home by the beginning of the school season, so come fall, they are no longer shopping at this point. Fewer buyers means less competition, which translates into more opportunities for buyers. When there are fewer buyers in the market, you’ll have more breathing and negotiating room. So go ahead and make that offer with confidence!
Sellers want to close by the end of the year
A lot of times, sellers want to close by the end of the year in order to take advantage of a gain or loss during this tax year. Buyers might find motivated sellers looking to make deals so they can close before December 31st and get that tax benefit. Keep an eye out for listings that offer incentives to close before the end of the year.
